About Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) at Thailand Science Park (TSP)

The responsibility of the Thailand Science Park’s Safety Health and Environment is to integrate a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible culture into the working experience at TSP. Environmental management includes services that provide oversight of hazardous waste management, chemical conservation and pollution prevention, emergency preparedness and planning.

Our primary objectives are to ensure the safety of our staffs and tenants in occupational and research environments and to ensure the safe and knowledgeable use of hazardous materials that are used in research and development. In addition to regulatory requirements, occupational and research activities at Thailand Science Park are guided by internal policies. TSP’s SHE division has the responsibility to develop, implement and maintain all elements of the safety program. Within SHE, the Safety Health & Environment division focus on the following areas:

Expansion Phase Overview Thailand Science Park Phase II comprises 4 inter-connected towers with a total floor area of 127,000 sq.m. Designed to create a conducive environment under the concept of “Work-Life Integration”. The first satellite Maine Biotechnology Services, Inc, (MBS) opening at Thailand Science Park

Joseph Chandler, Ph.D., President of MBSAsia, Ltd. announced on March 18, 2008 that Maine Biotechnology Services, Inc, (MBS) is decided to open its first satellite facility at the Thailand Science Park.  MBS has been providing its products and services to the world-wide biopharmaceutical and diagnostic markets.  More recently, MBS has increased its presence in the Asian market.  To meet the needs of its Asian customer base, MBS is opening a facility in Asian to better serve this expanding market and chose Thailand Science Park as their base.

 

MBS, founded in 1990 and based in Portland, Maine, USA, is a contract developer and manufacturer of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies.  Services provided include hybridoma development, polyclonal antibody development, ascites and in vitro production and purification. MBS also offers a large selection of bulk & OEM monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies for diagnostic, pharmaceutical and research applications.

The Spectacular Grand Opening – Shimadzu Bara Technical Center (SBTC)

Located in Thailand Science Park (TSP), Shimadzu Bara Technical Center is a collaborative project between Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) Pte., Ltd., Bara Scientific Co.,Ltd., and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). The opening ceremony of the Technical Center was held at Innovation Cluster 1 Building, on March 17th, 2008, with impressive Japanese traditional activities & dances.

Objective of Shimadzu Bara Technical Center is to support Thailand electronic and automotive industry in capability of determining hazardous substance or trace element analysis in electronics and related product in order to comply with existing and up-coming international standard, the RoHS/WEEE and the ELV Directives.

Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) Pte., Ltd. is one of the world’s leading developers and manufactures analytical and inspection instruments established in 1875, 133 years ago in Kyoto, Japan. Shimadzu’s beginning with Thailand was in the late 70s where Japanese turn key projects started.

Bara Scientific Co., Ltd. is one of the affiliated company of Bara Windsor Group which have more than 50 companies for synergy network. The company is exclusive distributor for sales and technical service of Shimadzu product in Thailand for more than 20 years.

V-MACHINES เทคโนโลยีมีคุณค่า ในเวลาที่เหมาะสม

ความพยายามในการนำปลั๊กอิน VST มาจับใส่ Hardware Box เพื่อนำมาใช้แสดงสดโดยไม่ต้องพึ่งพาคอมพิวเตอร์นั้นมีมากว่าครึ่งทศวรรษแล้ว มันจึงไม่ใช่เรื่องใหม่ที่ SM Pro Audio ได้ออกผลิตภัณฑ์แบบนี้ออกมาภายใต้ชื่อ "V-MACHINES" แต่จุดสำคัญคือความน่าสนใจในการแตก V-MACHINES ออกเป็น 3 ผลิตภัณฑ์ย่อยตามความต้องการใช้งานแตกต่างกัน รุ่นเล็กที่สุดคือ "V-Box"

เน้นไปที่การพกพาง่าย ใช้ควบคุมส่วนใหญ่จาก MIDI Controller ทีต่อเข้ากับมัน โหลด VST/VSTi เข้าไปได้หลายตัว (รายละเอียดยังไม่เปิดเผยว่ามีกำลังในส่วนนี้มากแค่ไหน) เพื่อทำการแบ่ง Key Zone, Layers หรือ Signal Chains ได้เหมือนกับการโหลดเข้าไปเล่นกับคอมพิวเตอร์

 

สำหรับมือกีตาร์ก็มี "V-Pedal"

ความน่าสนใจคือนอกจากตัวถังดูแข็งแกร่งบึกบึน ตัว Physical Control ต่าง ๆ นั้น ทำขึ้นมาเพื่อมือกีตาร์ มือเบสโดยเฉพาะ โดยมี Line/Mic In เพื่อต่อเข้ากับกีตาร์ได้ตรง ๆ นอกจาก 4 Foot Switch และ Expression Pedal สำหรับคนชอบเหยียบแล้ว ยังมี Rotary Encoders สำหรับคนชอบหมุน และจอ TFT Display สำหรับคนชอบมองอีก ซึ่งจากวิดีโอสาธิตจากงาน Messe เราจะเห็นว่าหน้าจอจะใช้แสดงสถานะของพารามิเตอร์ต่าง ๆ ได้สวยงามมาก ที่สำคัญคือแนวคิดนี้ถือเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ชิ้นแรก ยังไม่มีผู้ผลิตนายไหนทำมาก่อน เพราะหากนำไปเทียบกับ Amplitube ของ IK Multimedia หรือ Guitar Rig ของ NI มันก็ยังเป็นแค่ Controller ที่พึ่งพาการประมวลผลจากคอมพิวเตอร์เท่านั้น ถือว่า V-Pedal นั้นน่าจับตามองอย่างมาก ๆ เพราะมันจะเป็น Pedal Effect ตัวแรกที่มี Combination ไม่จำกัดจาก VST มากมายนั่นเองครับ นอกจากมือกีตาร์จะสร้าง Setup ด้วยการจับแอมป์จาก Guitar Rig มาผสม Stomp Boxes จาก Amplitube แล้ว ยังสามารถสรรหาเอฟเฟกต์แปลก ๆ อย่าง Spectral Delay หรือ dBlue Glitch มาเล่นกับมันได้อีกต่างหาก ส่วนจะเล่นออกมาดีแค่ไหน นั่นเป็นเรื่องของฝีมือแล้วล่ะครับ

รุ่นใหญ่สุดในไลน์คือ "V-Rack"

ดูจากหน้าตาแล้ว สูสีกับ Receptor รุ่นพี่ที่ออกมาหลายปีแล้วได้เลย แต่จะมีภาษีดีกว่าตรงหน้าจอ ที่เป็นแบบสมัยใหม่ มีบาลานซ์อินพุท 1 คู่ เอาท์พุทมากมาย ที่ให้เราส่งเอาท์พุทมาจากอินสตรูเมนต์แต่ละตัวได้ SM Pro ยังบอกว่าใช้ AD/DA Converter ระดับไฮเอนด์เพื่อให้ใช้เป็นเอาท์บอร์ดเอฟเฟกต์และมาสเตอริ่งยูนิตได้เลย มี Rotary Encoders อีกถึง 16 ปุ่ม นี่่ก็น่าจะเป็นอุปกรณ์เดียวที่ห้องบันทึกเสียงสมัยใหม่ต้องการ

 

จุดสำคัญที่สุดอีกอย่างคือการใช้งานร่วมกับระบบปฏิบัติการ Windows, Mac, Linux ได้ครบถ้วน โดยจะมีซอฟต์แวร์ที่ใช้ในการโหลดจาก OS นั้น ๆ ผ่าน USB เข้าไปในตัว V-MACHINES ข้อมูลอย่าง Sound Bank ก็จะถูกส่งเข้าไปใช้ได้ด้วยเป็นก้อนเดียวกัน

 

ยังมีจุดที่หลายคนอย่างรู้ รวมทั้งผู้เขียนด้วยคือระบบการป้องการการสำเนาของปลั๊กอินต่าง ๆ นั้น จะมีการจัดการอย่างไร ปกติแล้วข้อมูลส่วนที่เป็นอินสตรูเมนต์กับเอฟเฟกต์นั้นจะแยกออกมาต่างหากจากระบบป้องกัน หมายความว่าเราอาจทำการ Activate การใช้งานบนคอมพิวเตอร์ผ่าน Host ของ V-MACHINE เสียก่อน แล้วจึงส่งข้อมูลปลั๊กอินต่าง ๆ เข้าไป หรืออาจเป็นไปได้ว่ามีการ Bypass ส่วนนี้ทิ้งไปเลยก็ได้ ซึ่งเรื่องนี้น่าจะมีการเปิดเผยให้ทราบกันอีกทีตอนใกล้ ๆ วางจำหน่ายในไตรมาสที่ 4 ครับ เรื่องราคายังไม่เปิดเผยเช่นกัน แต่คาดว่าจะถูกลงมากว่า Receptor มาก ๆ
